So here’s my attempt at proving my intellectual capabilities:
· I accidentally scratched my leg on the escalator while trying to point out a pretty yummy ang moh to Germaine which led to Germaine labelling me an “airhead”. Notice the irony.
· I (most likely) overdosed on cough mixture in my attempt to get rid of my terrible cough/sore throat/ blocked nose/ headache.
· I plugged the microphone into the earphone jack and didn’t realise my mistake until much later. As a result, I missed the opportunity to chat with Yiwen on Skype):
See? I’m smart right? I think so too(:

I’ve been pretty busy lately. You can tell from the fact that I haven’t read Trent in the past FOUR days! This is pretty bad, considering that I read Trent religiously every single day. In fact, it’s the first thing I do when I wake up. And yes I read tabloids. I’m trashy(:
That being said, I honestly have no idea where all my time go. It’s not like I study very hard, in fact, my readings for 2 modules are completely untouched): It’s not like I go out everyday. It’s not like I read alot or watch TV. The only thing I can think of is that I sleep alot. As in, ALOT.
Sometimes I feel like I’m not alive. I don’t exist in this world. My days fly by and I’m just floating through them like a ghost with no place to go and no emotions to feel. I go for class and I can’t absorb. I do my readings, and I can’t register the information. I talk to people and I don’t remember what I say or hear. I feel like I’m just slowly dying away, my whole being, my spirit is being drained away. Sometimes I wonder, am I alive? Am I just an empty shell with no apparent soul in it?
Hmm, just in a reflective mood. I haven’t had a chance to play around with Photoshop. I’ll post some photos soon!(:

I’ve been busy busy busy!
Driving has been really fun. Needless to say, driving on the road is way more fun than driving in the circuit(: For my previous lesson, my instructor remarked that I can pass the driving test even though I’m still in the initial stages of driving. But I must also add that he repeatedly said, “Are you trying to kill me? Why do you keep turning so sharply to the left?” Clearly, his words cannot be trusted.
Anyway, while walking to the driving school the other day, I met a senior of mine from my Secondary School. And not just any senior, but a senior I had a minor crush on. I never thought he would recognise me but he did say hi. Surprised, I went into my Number One Default Mode, (also known as the Aloof Mode or the “Dao” Mode) smiled and scurried away:S But seriously, I’m just shy):
The first week of Uni life flew by really quickly. I’m still not used taking 1 hr 30 minutes to go to school when I used to take only 10 minutes. I’m still not used to the fact that I have to climb a million of steps in the National University of Steps to get to my classes or take a shuttle bus to get from one part of school to another. I’m still not used to tables in LTs that do not fall over (AJ joke). I’m still not used to having to think of what to wear, still not used to having lectures with hundreds of other people. But overall, I think I’m starting to get accustomed with school(:

Recent conversations with different people led me to think of my Ocip trip to Nan, northern Thailand during the end of 2005. Even though it has been one and a half years since I came back, my memories of Nan are still fresh in my mind. I can still remember the P1 and M1 kids that I taught, my teaching group, the school and its surroundings, the teachers who were such wonderful hosts, poopayak, the camp, the games, the food, the washing of dishes, the pineapple biscuits, the cold weather, the starry nights and the total lack of network for our handphones(:
The following photos are from the English camp that we organised for the Thai children during one of the weekends. Our campsite was at Poopayak, where locals grew crops. The water that we drink during those 3 weeks is also from there for it was some sort of water catchment area. Both the Thai children and us slept in tents. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous. When I have nothing to do, I always find myself just standing at the edge of the cliff and quietly enjoying the view. Also, the night view was breathtaking. The whole sky was lit with so many stars and every few minutes I get to see a shooting star with my naked eye.
I miss these times but I know that these experiences and memories will always be with me.

Our tents.

The kids’ tents.

I was quite productive today and managed to do some photo editing. My current computer is driving me up the wall because it’s so slow! I took an hour to edit 8 photos, and that was just basic editing like adjusting the contrast, saturation, colour etc.
Anyway, these photos are a continuation of the image I use for my blog header. They were taken in Yakcheon Temple, Jeju Island, South Korea. I love the temple because of all the intricate carvings, bright colours, ‘bell/drum towers’ and huge grounds. And despite its grandeur, it had this serene atmosphere. I felt amazed and at peace all at once(:

The ‘towers’. The one on right had a huge drum, while the left had a huge bell (you can’t really see it from this picture)

I’ve been a fan of Christian Bale since I first saw him in Batman Begins. Lets face it, he isn’t very good looking but he definitely has that charm on screen. He also has this crazy knack for picking the most unconventional role. I love watching him perform because he is just so versatile(:
I stumbled upon this while browsing the other day. It reminded me of how I wanted to watch all of Bale’s movies. So far, I’ve caught his performance in American Psycho, Batman Begins, Harsh Times and The Prestige. Apart from Harsh Times which was crap, I love all the other three movies!
Anyway, Bale has a new movie, Rescue Dawn, out soon (in the US)! Well, it will probably take 3 million light years to reach our sunny shores but I’m looking forward to it. Plus, its a war movie, a Vietnam War movie! Oh, I can’t wait for the next Batman installment too(:
Ok, end of rant(:

WordPress is siriusly getting to me. I’m half of a mind to run back to Blogger’s wide and inviting arms, sob and ask for its forgiveness and promise never to leave it again.
But, I’m giving WordPress another go.
So here’s my new template in 3 days. I couldn’t resolve the cellpadding problem with the previous template (WordPress calls it ‘theme’) so I switched to a new theme. And I had to change the picture in the header because the colours of the photo of the Jeju sea was just way off.
This picture was taken at a temple somewhere in Jeju Island, South Korea. Actually, its the ceiling of a temple somewhere in Jeju. I love the colours(:

The biggest event that happened on 070707 is probably the rebirth of my blog!
Well, just kidding. I’m talking about Live Earth of course. I caught snippets of it as it was on today/yesterday (depends on which side of the time zone you live on) While I would think that I’m pretty eco-friendly, the whole Live Earth thing got me thinking again.
You’re reading the blog of a person who is forever online. That means, even when she’s asleep, the computer is on, the modem is on, the router is on, the printer is plugged in to a switch that most often than not, is on.
So from today onwards, I’ll make an effort to use less electricity(: And hence, less fuel will be burnt, less carbon dioxide produced, more environmental friendly yadda yadda.
Oh, and since I played my part in ensuring that global warming will slow down, even to the fraction of a second, that means the ice in the Arctic will melt less slowly, that means the polar bears will still be there!
Which also means, we need to play more polar bear(:

I’ve been working on this new blog for a couple of days. Just now, I was adding new links and hence I begin the painful process of going through over 50+ blogs to check if they are still active. While I usually only read the blogs of those people I’m close to, it is a change indeed to see how other people, whom I’ve met at some point in my life, are doing now. Blogs are essentially a very efficient way of catching up with people, their lives and lots of gossip(: It’s interesting to see how others have been doing this past 6 months, how different/alike they are after leaving school, how the guys talk (complain) about NS…
Most importantly, it got me thinking: what have I done with my time since I left AJ? Well, I got a pretty uninspiring job that paid horribly, left after four months, and now, I’m jobless and spending most of my time slacking around. I always justify my absolute laziness by saying that I’m having the time of my life having no worries, and being able to read, watch and just do anything I want to. And boy, I love this life(:
That being said, I wondered if I wasted this period? I don’t think I’ll ever have such a long time off. Have I done anything truly meaningful? Fulfilling? I wanted to go traveling with friends, but I never got around to it):
Time waits for no man.
Well, to the moment then.

Greetings.
After much procrastination, headaches, template changes, image editing, I’m proud to present the rebirth of JoyzToTheWorld!(:
For the uninitiated, I used to have a blog at blogspot, but for some unknown reasons, I became really uninspired and hence did not update regularly.
Well, with this new blog, I aim to blog regularly (trust me!) and also to post many many photos(:
By the way, the image you see above is taken at Jeju Island, Korea. Here’s the original picture:
